We visited Deux Souliers studio in Sant Salvador, 114 in Barcelona. An old garage that was also the artist Luis Vidal’s studio and is now an experimentation lab of Deux Soliers. Between old furniture and beautiful leather scrolls, they show us their new collection for this summer, in which pale and subtle tones take the center stage. Materials like cowhide or clean cotton provide novelty on their classic forms.
Nunu, the designer of Deux Souliers, explains to us that it all started with a capsule collection of 4 model shoes, as a way of experimenting. In fact, if we go back in time, it was a visit to an artisan’s shoe studio that took her to choose this world. And thanks to the good reception that had the capsule collection, the brand was founded.
With the models, designed in the studio and produced in Menorca, Nunu emphasizes the idea of a pair of comfortable shoes and at the same time attractive. They suit to the feet and wardrobe of everyone, because they don’t have age, gender (some models are unisex) nor season. The timeless aesthetics of each collection, a re-edition of the classics like the Jane or the Oxford, if it allows.
A bet for quality that responds to the emergent need of products made in a responsible way, with personality and quality. Steering away from the trends and betting on durability. A firm that produces here and is worldwide situated. Their models have been seen in the Ailanto or Krizia Robustella fashion shows, among others. And they can be purchased in different online outlets. Soon, Nunu explains to us that they are thinking about doing “Open door” sessions to keep this closeness to the client.
